Shrub 2.5 m. tall, 8 cm. in diameter,
branching from near the base. Fruit
light tan, inflated; seeds black.
Edge of woods down to the Bronx
River by back entrance to the Family
Garden, with Fraxinus americana,
Quercus rubra, Carya. Likely planted;
no other plants of the species seen in
the Garden.
