On coastal flats in full sun along roadside. In well-drained soil of granite sand.
Native and occasional. Succulent Karoo.
Perennial geophyte, 1 m high. Sessile, succulent simple leaves, distichous, 30-
40 cm long, margins entire. Exudate sticky, clear, yellowish. Roots yellow and
fleshy. Yellow flowers in a raceme of up to 1 m long, flowers 10 mm long,
filaments pillose..
