On gentle hill slope, well-drained stony soil og granitic loam and in sand on
coastal dune, in shade to foil sun. Native and occasional. Savanna to coastal
forest.
Perennial scrambler up to 2 m high. Leaves alternate, simple, hiary, dark green
with nettle-like stinging hairs.
