On gentle southern and eastern mountain slope, in pasture/riverbank vegetation
along stream bank, in partial shade to foil sun. In well-drained stony soil of
sandstone loam. Native and abundant. Grassland, with Harpochloa falx, Rubus
rigidus, Barleria monticola and Protea caflra.
Perennial scrambler, 1.5 m high. Simple, haiiy leaves opposite, cordate, leaf
margins entire. Flowers in racemes.
