E of center of Santa Cruz, on road to Cotoca. 17°46'S, 63°04'W. alt. 375 m. Subtropical, semi-deciduous "Chaco" forest, 4-8 m. tall, dense, spiny, briefly inun- dated in rainy season, very flat, the soil silty and fine sandy, with Bumelia obtusifolia, Capparis tweediana, Reichenbachia hirsuta.
