Subtropical, semi-deciduous "Chaco" forest,
4-8 m. tall, dense, spiny, briefly inun-
dated in rainy season, very flat, the soil
silty and fine sandy, with Bumelia obtusifolia,
Capparis tweediana, Reichenbachia hirsuta.
Herbs to 2 m. tall in open swampy area.
Flowers white.
