Plain, in full sun. Well drained aeolian sand of quartzite. Native and
occasional. Thorny savanna with Acacia erioloba, A. melífera, Schmidtia,
Grewia flava and Gragrostis lehmanniana.
Perennial prostrate herb, with stem up to 2 m long, with a thick taproot of 1 m
long. Petiole 5 mm long. Leaves simple, opposite, leathery, linear to ovate,
covered in stiff hairs, aromatic. Exudate a white latex. Inflorescence cymose,
flowers greenish white to cream.
