along Koopan South road: 27° 26.333' S: 20° 41.689' E
On gende northern slope at base of first dune around salt pan, in full sun. Well-
drained , deep Kalahari sand with coarse calcrete gravel. Native and locally
common. Kalahari grassland with Rhigosum trichotomum, Sarcocaulon and
Stipagrostis..
Perennial geophyte with poisonous white latex, 20 cm high, root tuber 80x30
cm. Stem 5-10 cm long with leaves alternate simple, linear, 60-100 x 5-10
mm. Flowers trumpet-shaped, 20-25 long, pale to deep pink, in dichasiums.
