APURE: ca. 3 km N of Cano Caicara bridge
on Bruzual-Mantecal highway. Large
shallow lake on E side of highway.
Sparse on drying margins of lake with
Salvinia auriculata, Pontederia, and
Ludwigia. One rhizome floating and with
feathery roots and large floating leaves
bearing red abaxial stripes. Fertile
only on land.
