Collector’s Note. Between the Las Parras summit (ca. 600 m.) and San 'Javier (ca. 350 m.), the broad upper basin of Arroyo Santo Domingo is bordered by buttelike peaks and mesas. Many short side-canyons drain into the main arroyo. Common in the open area are Lysiloma candida, Mimosa purpurasensy Bur sera microphylla, Jatropha cin- ereaì Adelia virgata, Colubrina glabra, Karwinskya Hum- boldtiana, Opuntia and Pachycereus Pringlei. Larrea tri- dentata occurs in occasional patches. In the canyons, in ad- dition to many of the above, are Cassia Goldmanii, Schaef- feria, Bursera Hindsiana, Sapium biloculare, Ruellia penin- sulare, Alvordia, Verbesina, Franseria arborescens.
