UPPER BIG TUJUNGA CANYON: margin of Big Tujunga Creek and toes of the slopes immediately west (ca 1.6 air-miles ENE of Barley Flats). Chilao Hat USGS 7.5' quad; T2N R11W, NE/4 SE/4 SE/4 sect 5, and W/4 NW/4 SW/4 SW/4 sect 4; elevation ca 3980-4040 feet. Riparian margin dominated by Salix\ adjacent slope with mesic chaparral elements and openings with mostly herbaceous and suffrutescent species.
