small shrub, up to 1 m tall; leaves cordate-ovate, glossy, smooth, dark to light
green on top; rough, grey-green on bottom; stems light green, older ones with
glandular dots and white spreckles; spikes solitary at apex with mature spikes
up to 16 cm. Peppery smell in broken leaves. [Accession # 970422].
