Field Char: Climber; leaves chartaceous, dull
dark green above, pale green below; fruits red,
single seed with smooth coat.
Notes: Relatively common, one of several Piper
sp. in area.
Locality: Morobe Province: logging road near
Markham Village, along the margin of Labu
Swamp.
Habitat: Swamp forest on alluvial flats,
periodically flooded forest.
