11972. Piper puberulinodum C. DC. n. «p. Manica
(Piper). Climbing upon large or small trees at 2500 feet;
stem 3 inches thick or less in the smaller ones, tightly
cleaving to its support, nodulose, densely covered with
blunt tubercles, yellowish gray; branchlets green, smooth,
numerously rebranched; leaves coriaceous, descending, folded
upon the upper lucid green surface, much paler green beneath;
fruits ugon recurved 1 inch long green peduncle arising
oppositefieaves, 1 to 2 inches long, cylindric or mere or
less subnodulose, 1/3 to 1/2 inch across^ olj^js
