Flat, fine-sandy soil. Brushy area, formerly semi-deciduous
forest, with small native trees (Rhamnidium elaeocarpum,
Trichilia elegans, Sapium haematospermum, and the vine
Tetracera parviflora) in fringe between pastures and sugar
cane fields (Saccarhum qfficinarum), and unshaded sandy
roadside with some loose blown sand and plants typical of
sandy areas in floodplain along seasonally flooded streams
in the region (Praxelis clematidea) or natural sandy
grasslands (Sebastiania).
Loose sandy soil, full sun. Erect herbs, single stems or a few
together. Flowers odorless (5:00 P.M., sunny); corolla
reflexed, dull light yellow; corona white; “style branches”
slightly more green than the corona. Fruit light green, erect.
