Habit etc. Tree I}.21 high, 37” gbhob (measured) single stem,
slight lean, 1st branch at 10', bole assymetrical, large
spreading crown. Bark grey-brown, streaked up to 1 cm. IB
cream, ripidly covered by copious latex ooze, + 0*6 cms. In
fir. raceme peduncles green, stamens yellow. Attacked by bugs,
ány woui^dbiy;o Ives., firs., or shoots) yields copious latex.
An unusual sub-dominant- in <,mutemwa,t, growing und-
er direct shade (hence slightly flattened crown) of large
Baikiaea. pjtnfrgi.jpga & a large Pterocarpus antenesii with Fagara
trijuga, Pcvpowia obovata, Citropsis. Dalbergia glandulosa etc.,
under, on grey Kalahari snad. This portion of the forest not
apparently frequently fired.
