Description
Stems recurved, 3 m long. Inflorescence from the rootstolk, terete, red; bracts rather soft, red except the whitish basal portion; receptacle elongated, with a broad truncate apex bearing about 6 flowers; flowers odorless, fully 3 in. long, erect, recurved towards the top; their bracts very thin, whitish toward the base, otherwise pink; calyx rigid, very lucid deep rich red, equalling the corolla; the latter is very thick, lighther red; pistil red; staments palecent. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
