shrub-like tree in red soil overlying gravel beds along the
river banks at $00 feet; stem subterete, 3 inches thick*
10 to 16 feet high, branched from below the middle; wood
rather heavy, hard, dingy white, odorless and tasteless;
bark smooth and gray whitish, with ar green hypodermis,
the inner region sappy white; main branches ascending,
repeatedly branched* twig» *uite rigid, asoendingly curved,
breaking with a snap; petioles ascending, fulvous^ blades
curved mmmrt upon the upper ®idet subglaucous green beneath*
horizontal or descending, chartaoeous; Inflorescence ter«
minal or lateral* e*eoij yellowish green, slightly fragrant,
soft in texture, the filaments more ufcite and
