KAUAI: North slope of Mt. Haupu. Mesic-dry forest dominated by Schinus
terebinthifblia and Rsidium cattieianum. Scattered Pandanus
tectoriusindividuals and remnant patches of Psydrax oderata. Ground cover
dominated by Blechnum glandulosum. Loose rocky soil.
Small tree, 4 m tall. Prominent nodes towards branch tips. Milky sap. Umjpe,
fertilized ovaried green to rust colored turning to dry capsules when ripe.
Small remnant patch of 5 adult trees. No regeneration.
