Grazed tropical semi-evergreen cloud forest (bos-
que mesofilo de montana, near lover edge of this
zone and not quite as dense or cool as this vegeta-
tion type becomes just SE of here) , dominated by
Quercus spp., vithArdisia compressa, Malvaviscus
arboreus var. mexicanus, Rondeletia amoena common
in the shrub layer; Salvia #12056 and Pedilanthus
palmeri very abundant in the ground layer; and
ferns (Asplenium achilleifolium, Tectaria mexi-
cana, Peeluma ferruginea) , grasses (Panicum par-
viglume, Oplismenus burmannii, Zeugites smilaci-
cifolia), herbs (Pleuropetalum spruce!, Aphelan-
dra madrensis. Sida glabra), shrubs (Chamaedorea
pochutlensis, Bouvardia cordifolia) and lianas
(Fuchsia fulgens) . Elev. 1,465-1,495 m.
