Steep mountains 11-12 miles south of Talpa de Allende, in the
headwaters of a west branch of Rio de Talpa; barranca above a
rapid clear stream, in dense forest of Quercus, Carpinus, Distylvum,
Magnolia, Podocarpus, with pine forest on the ridges above; eleva-
tion 1200-1700 m.
Abundant, especially on rocks near stream.
