(16°15'S;62°35'W) 500 to 900m. Chain of
hills, precambrian shield; humid forest at
base, low dense scrub at midslope and open
savanna on ridge tops.
Tree fern, Ht to 2m, upright to leaning on
other vegetation; stem with spines
protruding just below leaf scar. Leaves
bipinnate, length to 2m, width to lm; next
to stream in humid forest.
