Roadside "knoll" (cut-off from rest of the mountainside by the highway), 31.3km south
of Baeza. Wet montane forest. Common on mossy lower portions of mid-diameter
angiosperm trunks, in lush wet broadleaf forest slope, slightly disturbed, with diverse
understory. With small palms, treeferns, lots of Danaea, Polybotrya, small pedate Pteris,
Diplazium, etc.

Duplicates: 3, to QCA, DUKE, NY. Made four grammitid collections here: a big one (3716); a "crinkly" one
(3718); one with widely spaced pinnules (3719), and a smaller one that was growng on a horizontal fallen trunk
(3720). Trip funded in part by a Lewis and Clark Explorers Grant from the American Philosophical Society, to
C.Rothfels.
