Description
spore length: 5.5 - 7 microns; spore width: 5.5 - 7 microns; spore shape: round; spore texture: fussy, netted; spore color: clear; spore print color: pinkish grey. This speciman appeared pink at first, I had to wait until the second day for the outer skin to turn dark and have the opening at the top appear. On the third day the toothpaste like spore mass inside the sporocarp become powdery so I could make a spore mount for the photos. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Lycogala epidendrum.
