  • Location

United States of America. Missouri. Saint Louis Co. Wildwood. Babler State Park.

  • Habitat

hillside - wooded. Moisture conditions: moist. leaf - litter.

  • Description

spore length: 21 - 24.5 microns; spore width: 12 - 14.5 microns; spore shape: broadly elliptical; spore texture: sometimes showing granules at tips; spore color: very pale yellow; spore print color: n/d. The small splits at the edge of the fertile disk area and the size, shape, texture and lack of oil droplets were critical in final classification. Spore photo was obtained from placing the specimen directly no a glass slide. Not enough spore was deposited to get a definitive spore print color. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) confirmed that this specimen is Disciotis venosa.
