Description
spore length: 7.5 - 9 microns; spore width: 4.5 - 6 microns; spore shape: elliptical; spore texture: smooth; spore color: clear, hyaline; spore print color: yellow orange. Even though only a couple of spores were obtained, the spore size fit within the size range. The smooth fertile area lend great credibility to the classification. DNA results was not obtained due to the primers that were used were incorrect for this genus. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) confirmed that this specimen is Cantharellus lateritius.
