Kearney Shrubs to 4 feet high and 4 feet across; corollas whitish to pale rose; on alluvial flats on W side of canyon; area burned in last 2-3 years. Los Angeles County: San Clemente Island: China Canyon, ca. 1.55 miles inland from bridge across mouth of canyon, near UTM 11 0366760E 3633730N. Localized; flats; gentle SE-facing exposure. Elevation: ca. 520 feet. Associated species: Opuntia prolifera, O. oricola, Rhus integrifolia, Cirsium occidentale, Marrubium vulgare, Gnaphalium bicolor, Mirabilis californica, Marah macrocarpus, Calystegia macrostgia, Avena fatua, Bromus rubens, Nassella cernua.
