Semi-open slopes, in the mountains. In pine-oak forest.

Description
Plants wholly herbaceous from a fibrous-rooted caudex, and up to 1 m. tall, or becoming shrubby and up to 1.5 m. tall. Glowers bright purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
