COLLECTOR’S NOTE. Valle Je Los Enclnos extends In an ease-west
direction on the southern flank of Cerro Giganta at an eleva-
tion of ca. 700 m. At the upper (eastern) end Is a 3tnall dry
lake area (El Llanito) surrounded hy an extensive stand of Pro-
scpis Palmeri. The central part of the valley has a park-like
cover of Celtis pallida, Prosopis Jullflora, Cercidium peninsu-
lare, Lemaireocereus Thurberi; after heavy summer rains the
floor bears a dense cover of Amaranthus Palmeri. In the sur-
rounding canyons (up to 8i)0 m.) and on the 3lopes ax-e Celtis
reticulata, Quercus tuberculata (restricted to two localities),
Pisonia flavescens, Erythrlna flabelliformis, Mimosa purpuras-
cens, Lysiloma divaricata, Cassia Goldmanii, Jatropha cinerea,
J. veroicosa (at higher elevations), Aralia scopulorum, Hyptls
Emoryi, Lippia barbata, Lemaireocereus Thurberl, Pachycereu3
Pringlei, Alvordia glomerata, and Verbesina peninsularis.
