Inundated forests on lake margins and floating mats of vegetation on lake. Pern floating in loose grass mats at edge of river. Young leaves with blades, older leaves more or less bladeless. Base of petiole enlarged and spongy. Leaves producing abundant plantlets from base of dichotomous branching. C.R. Sperling, S.
