"pinita" Patch on ground. Inflorescence
erect, red-orange. Common name derives from
the fruiting inflorescence which resembles a
small "pina" [pinapple], which is very acid
and used for preparing a drink with sugar; the
fruit eaten raw is a strong vermifuge.
