I am writing just a line to thank
you for your kind answer to my letter.
Should you ©han©e to Tie 1m Florida this winter
I hope you will make it ©onvenient to ©ome to Altamont
Spring(mfcar Winter Park)where we shall he.You would ha
hare mo trouble in finding us,and unless "there is an
unbelievable «Mange there yon ©an see plenty of the
Blovularia.
It seems to require a lake with a shallow
and protected Margin.Otite lake where it grows meets
these requirements.The water 1© seareely a foot deep
fifty feet from shore and there a a harrier of
vegetation im©luding grasses ,sedges and shrubs
whieh makes the shallow margin very quiet.
I hare followed the margin for several hundred ya
yards and found it every where.It is just at the surf a
faeeancl is almost eontimuous.Tow other species grow
with itii
I think that the time I found it may not he
its hest time of blossomirag.At least I found hlossoms
smd fruit both s©antythough the mats were everywhere.
X «olleeted only hits of the mats with hlossoms of
fruit whieh was a laborious task,To gather larger

a specimen whieh I found last winter in Orange
©oumty Florida, and am hoping you may find tine to
help me out with it.It is I take it the minute
Bladder-wort Biovularia olivaeea though the blad-
ders are mot as shown in Smalls figure.They are
at the ends of short feramehes ,an arrangment quite
different fro?: his. I would like to know ¡something of
its history,and I ©an find nothing ahout it in
print.Could you tell me who discovered it in Florida
1 had supposed that Mr Rapp of Sanford might
have done so.He does not now seeM to know about
