Vietnam. Da Nang City, Hoa Vang District, Ba Na-Nui Chua Nature Reserve, road to summit,
steep forested slopes, 16°00’N, 108°02’E, ca. 350 m elevation, forest on steep slopes, 20th April
2017.
Licuala sp. nov.
Stems clustered, 3 m tall, 5 cm diameter. Petioles 165 cm long, spiny for only about 30 cm
proximally; blade 95 cm across; segments long, narrow, equally wide, 28-32 per leaf, the central
one petiolulate. Inflorescences erect amongst the leaves, 120 cm long, with 3 partial
inflorescences; rachillae not hairy; flowers yellow.
