North, northeast and east-facing slopes along the west side of Illinois Route 2, along the main [southern] entrance road to the Stronghold and Blackhawk Presbytery and camp. Elevation about 692-738 feet. Sandy loam soil. Mesic upland forest, with Aster shortii, Carex blanda, Celtis, Circaea lutetiana, Dentaria laciniata, Desmodium glutinosum, Geranium maculatum, Geum canadense, Juglans nigra, Phryma, Quercus alba, Toxicodendron radicans, Ulmus rubra.
