113°43,30" W longitude,	N latitude,
3400 feet.
Upland Sonoran Desert, E-facing rocky steep
slope, with Cercidium microphyllum, Calliandra
eriophylla, Psilostrophe, Lupinus, Opuntia
acanthocarpa, O. basilaris, Fouquieria splen-
dens, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Encelia farinosa,
Erioneuron pulchellum, Canotia holacantha,
Juniperus monosperma, Nolina bigelovii, Yucca
baccata, Marina parryi. Six flowering plants
in clone of 20, under Cercidium microphyllum,
6 dead stalks, stalks 18 ft tall, 14 peduncles,
these flowers 3rd and 4th up from base,
no nectar (3 pm), flowers flaring, light yellow,
measurements after Gentry (1982), in mm,
during anthesis: tl=31, o=17x6, n=2.5, fi ins=2,
tu=2.15x10, tep=llx3, 11x2.5, a=9, sty=38;
