Northern Province; Sibium Mountains; W of Akupe Camp, along Kuriate River. 9.28843° S 148.2695° E 700 m Lowland Podocarpus forest with secondary elements. Tree, 7 m tall, dbh 12 cm, stems covered in prominent leaf scars; leaves alternate but appearing whorled at ends of branches, obovate, 17.5 x 6 cm, margin toothed, discolorous, petiole black, swollen, 5 cm long, stipules small; fruits in cauliferous panicles, globular, 1.6 x 1.3 cm, blue with green flesh and brown seed, pedicel short, 0.7 cm.
