National Forest, N. Fork Big Lost River drainage, 0.4
miles above Horse Creek crossing, steep slope along
NE side of Nork Fork Big Lost River Road. Elevation:
7,190 ft. On fine, very deep talus (volcanic) with
Artemisia tridentata ssp. tridentata, Agropyron
spicatum, Elymus cinereus, and Cryptantha interrupta.
Common shrub to ca. 1 m tall. Flowers with pinkish
lower hypanthium and white above.
