first of four escarpments. Elevation: 1135 m. 5°6'36.3"N
59°49'14 1"W. Dense, single-tiered canopy forest on gray sandy clay,
peat, and sandstone, with Clusia, Moronobea and Euterpe. Tree 8m with
white latex, flowers yellowish-brown, in bud.
