On open roadbank and edge of clearcut pine flatwoods. Locally abundant. Deep sandy soil.

Description
Corollas white, tube with a purple tinge, slightly pendant, adaxial lobes ± ascending, abaxial lip projecting forward with lobes descending; staminde exserted onto abaxial lip, with violet hairs; anthers dark brown to purple, included; herbage with a strong chemical odor; nectar with a sweet fragrance. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
