    20 % slope, southern exposure. Seriously retrogressed Abies grandis of Thuja plicata habitat type, now occupied chiefly by Physocarpus union plants with pole-sized Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine, with dense Arctostaphylos uva-ursi and abundant Shepherdia canadensis. Common.

R.3E; 3,200 ft., 20% slope, southern exposure; a
seriously retrogressed Abies grandis or Thuja
plicata habitat type, now occupied chiefly by
Physocarpus union plants with pole-sized Douglas-
fir and ponderosa pine. Common with dense
Arctostaphylos uva-ursi and abundant Shepherdia
canadensis; height 0.5-1 m tall.
