Habitat
On level land. White spruce-black spruce-larch dominated forest. Floor deeply covered with feather mosses and Cladonia. Shrubs: Shepherdia, Myrica, Potentilla, Rosa, Betula glandulosa, Ledum, Empetrum. Dug 8 inches to frozen peat. Infrequent.

Berries blue-glaucous; leaves whitened below. Spreading-decumbent shrub to 2 ft. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
