  • Habitat

    Rocky cliffs and edges of roadcut. Associated with Passiflora holoserice, P. goniosperma, and at edge of the forest P. mexicana. Common here.

  • Description

    Doing best in full sun. Stems reddish, pedicels green. Large ants common at nectaries on terminal inflorescences. Flowers with hardly detectable odor, open and receptive around late morning through midday. Flowers all yellowish green except purple-violet limen floor. Edge of limen white. No purple on corona. Corona shorter than that of same taxon at Tecoman, Colima. Ripe fruits dark bluyish black, with glaucous bloom, thus appearing dark grey-blue; shape varies from depressed globose to slightly ellipsoid, somewhat trigonal in x-section.Outer fruit layer purple-staining; inner lining (placenta) greenish. Purple layer mildly fruity, neither sweet nor sour. Arils clear, distinct whiteline on side, close fitting, more or less tasteless. Voucher, chromosomes n = 6. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
