River Road, Superior National Forest.
47°38’00”N, 90°47’00”W. alt. 387 m.
On slope just above swampy woods with Abies balsamea,
Picea mariana, Alnus, Populus balsamifera, P. tremuloides,
Salix bebbiana.
Tree recently snapped off by wind, 50 cm. in diameter, with
a straight trunk and narrow conical crown. Voucher for
wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw, the
wood specimen from trunk near top of tree.
