Clausen 6776 (CU - 9 sheets, NY - 5 sheets)
includes Trillium erectum (dark pistils,
short anthers), petal color forms, some
introgressants with T. flexipes (pinkish
pistils, long anthers, recurved petals).
The Susquehanna River Valley harbors several
mixed populations; T. flexipes extends well
into Maryland. Clausen’s series illustrates
well the close relationship of these two taxa
of the T. erectum species group.
