R. HuLme, M. D., published 1842. Furcellaria fastigiata Lamour. Eab. On rocks in the sea, very common. Perennial. In fructification during the winter months» abundant on the south , shore in pools left by the tide. | The annexed specimen shows a portJ of the frond of this plant, a very singu-i lar state of which forms Mr. D. Turner’s variety B. and which is characterised by little ovate lanceolate transparent, pale soft terminations of the branches which he considers as abortive attempts at fructification. I have found several specimens of this variety. C0514086F 03598875
