T9N, R11W, Sec. 28. Lat.: 34°58'46,,N Long.: 108°00'40,,W (WGS84 Datum). Elev. 7330 ft. In rocky (basalt) soil on gentle S-facing slope with Pinus. Juniperus & Bouteloua. Plants perennial, to 20 cm tall; leaves succulent, linear-terete; sepals 2, belatedly deciduous, greenish- scarious proximally, reddish-purple distally; petals pink-purple; stamens 5; capsules ca. 4.5 mm long, splitting from apex and base; seeds + smooth, ca. 0.9 mm in diameter.
