Dear Dr. Rydberg:
When you checked up the list of Arizona plants which 1 sent
you on May 25 last you noted that the herbarium of the New York Botanical
Garden contains a specimen of Bloomeria orocea (Torr.) Coville from
Mormon Lake (Mac Dougal No. 54). I have since examined the specimen
collected by Mr. B. 0. Osborn near Flagstaff, Arizona, and find that it
is not a Bloomeria but is Brodiaea Leamonae Wats. Since Mormon Lake
is near Flagstaff, it occurs to me that your specimen labeled Bloomeria
crocea (Torr.) Coville may also be Brodiaea Lemmonae Wats.
Very sincerely yours,
k/v
