La Selva, the OTS Field Station on the Rio
Puerto Viejo just E of its junction with the
Rio Sarapiqui. Elevation about 100 m.
South Boundary, along Q. El Salto.
Subcanopy tree 20 m tall, 45 cm dbh. Wood
orange-yellow, very hard. Petals pink.
Sweet fragrance of vanilla. Midrib and new
stems square.
