Selaginella douglasii Spring
IDAHO, Idaho Co., Snowhole Rapids on Salmon River
in T31N R2W sec. 20; on alluvial sandbar beneath
shrubs, in a modified Pinus ponderosa/Physocarpus
malvaceus h.t.- open and with more Amelanchier
alnifolia and Cercocarpus ledifolius on the slope
above, 60% slope, northern exposure, sandy soil,
1200 ft.; dominant with Symphoricarpos albus,
Holodiscus discolor and Rhus radicans; plants also
present along the north facing canyon slopes from
Lorna’s Lulu Rapids to Snowhole (a distance of 6
miles) and on granitic talus and colluvium.
