Perennials from creeping rhizomes; stem scales lanceolate, brown, concolorous to slightly bicolorous; loosely appressed, deciduous on older portion of rhizome; abaxial blade scales lanceolate-attenuate, with coarse cilia proximally (understory scales often ciliate throughout); ultimate segments glabrous adaxially; sporangia 32-spored; spores + 62 microns.
