With Castilleja linariifolia, Amsonia tomentosa stenophylla, Thymophylla pentachaeta, Hymenoxys argentea, Gilia hutchsinfolia, Gaillardia, Penstemon eatonii, Senecio multilobatus, Fendlera rupicola, Coleogyne ramosissima, Chrysothamnus, Stanleyawrightii, Juniperus, Sphaeralcea leptophylla, Fraxinus anomala, Galium, Oenothera pallida, Bromus rubens, Rhus trilobata simplicifolia, Opuntia polyacantha erinacea, Brikellia microphylla scabra. Common perrenial. Cryptogamic soil.

Becoming somewhat suffrutescent, much branched from base with numerous, erect stems, flowers orange, attractive. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
